Terms and conditions

Last updated: 10 May 2026

These terms govern your use of secretmaa.org and your sign-up as a Secret Maa. They are written in plain language because the trust this platform asks for deserves to be explained clearly. By using the site or signing up, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not sign up.

These terms will be updated before contributions open, and every registered Secret Maa will be informed of material changes by email or WhatsApp.

1. About Secret Maa

Secret Maa is a platform that lets anyone — any age, any gender, anywhere — support child nutrition in India. It exists to ensure children receive the consistent nourishment vital for their growth and development, working alongside paediatric specialists, leading nutraceutical manufacturers, and NGO partners.

The platform is currently in its sign-up phase. We are gathering moral support before financial support. Contributions are not open at this stage. When they open, every Secret Maa will be informed first.

In these terms, "Secret Maa", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the Secret Maa initiative. "You" and "your" refer to anyone using the site or signing up.

2. What signing up means

When you sign up to be a Secret Maa, you are giving your moral support to this cause. You are confirming your belief that this is necessary. That is the entire commitment at this stage. It costs nothing.

By signing up, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old.

  • The information you provide (name, email, mobile number, age, city, state) is accurate and is your own.

  • You consent to receive updates from Secret Maa by email and WhatsApp, as described in our Privacy Policy.

  • You understand that signing up does not, by itself, create any financial, contractual or fiduciary obligation between you and Secret Maa.

You can withdraw your sign-up at any time by writing to namaste@secretmaa.org.

3. What signing up does not mean

To keep things honest, here is what signing up does not mean:

  • It is not a donation. No money changes hands at sign-up.

  • It is not a guarantee that any specific child will receive support because of you. Secret Maa works through NGO partners who handle the last mile. We do not match individual Secret Maas to individual children, by design.

  • It is not a subscription, membership or contract for services. There is no fee, and there is no promised deliverable to you in return.

  • It does not entitle you to any tax benefit at this stage. When contributions open and the relevant approvals are in place, we will be transparent about what — if anything — qualifies under Indian tax law.

4. Future contributions

Contributions are planned to open on Children's Day, after supply, scientific approvals and delivery systems are verified. When contributions open:

  • These terms will be updated to describe how contributions work.

  • Payments will be processed only through licensed payment partners.

  • Every contribution will be logged, audited, and reported through quarterly and annual reports.

  • Contributions, when made, will be voluntary. There is no obligation on any Secret Maa to contribute.

Until that time, anyone asking you to send money in the name of Secret Maa is not authorised by us. If in doubt, write to namaste@secretmaa.org.

5. How you may use the site

You may use secretmaa.org to learn about the cause, sign up, contact us, or share the site with others.

You agree not to:

  • Provide false, misleading or someone else's information when signing up.

  • Use the site or our communications to send spam, harass others, or distribute unlawful content.

  • Attempt to interfere with the site, bypass security, scrape data, or extract information about other Secret Maas.

  • Misrepresent your association with Secret Maa, or claim to act on our behalf without our written authorisation.

  • Use the Secret Maa name, logo, or content to solicit money, collect data, or run any activity on or off the platform without our written permission.

We may suspend or remove any sign-up that we reasonably believe breaches these terms.

6. Content on the site

The site contains information about child nutrition, nutritional formulations, and the science behind them. This information is shared in good faith and is based on the standards we are working to (including ICMR-NIN 2020) and inputs from licensed paediatric specialists. It is provided for general awareness about the cause and is not medical advice. For personal nutritional or medical decisions, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.

References to nutraceutical manufacturers, NGOs, and partners reflect partnerships in development or active partnerships. The status of any specific partnership may change over time, and the site will be updated accordingly.

7. Intellectual property

The Secret Maa name, the writing on the site, the visual identity, the formulations, and the original content on secretmaa.org belong to Secret Maa or are used with permission. You may share links to the site freely. You may not copy, reproduce, modify or use our content for commercial purposes, or to create derivative work, without our written permission.

Logos and names of partners shown on the site belong to those partners and are used with their permission.

8. Third-party links and partners

The site may link to third-party websites — for example, partner organisations, news coverage, or social platforms. We do not control those sites, and we are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Visiting them is at your own discretion.

NGO partners and brand partners are independent organisations. They are responsible for their own actions, policies and conduct. Our responsibility is to choose partners carefully and to be transparent about who we work with.

9. Disclaimer

We work hard to keep the site accurate and up to date, and to do what we say we will do. But we cannot promise that the site will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted, and we cannot promise that every figure quoted from third-party sources (UNICEF, WHO, World Bank, NFHS and others) will be the most current at every moment. Where we cite sources, we identify them.

The site and its content are provided on an "as is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Secret Maa, its team, advisors and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising out of your use of the site or your sign-up, including loss of data or loss of expected benefit. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited under Indian law.

11. Indemnity

If your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site causes a third-party claim against Secret Maa, you agree to indemnify us against reasonable losses, costs and legal fees arising from that claim.

12. Privacy

How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy Policy. By using the site and signing up, you confirm that you have read and understood it.

13. Changes to these terms

These terms will evolve as the platform evolves, particularly when contributions open. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page

  • Notify every registered Secret Maa by email or WhatsApp before the change takes effect

Your continued use of the site or your continued status as a Secret Maa after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, you can withdraw your sign-up at any time.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or your sign-up will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.

Before going to court, we ask that you write to us first. Most things can be resolved over email.

15. Contact us

For anything related to these terms, your sign-up, or the platform:

Email: namaste@secretmaa.org

We will reply.
